THE National Lottery has warned its players not to fall for a new scam text message.
Lotto bosses took to social media to alert their followers this evening.
National-Lottery.com is not a lottery operator. The content and operations of this website have not been approved or endorsed by Premier Lotteries Ireland Limited, the Regulator of the National Lottery nor the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform.
The National Lottery said they do not contact players by text message.

Anybody who is told they have won a prize in a game they didn’t play should not reply to messages and, most importantly, should NEVER send money or personal information to someone who has contacted them unexpectedly.

Punters who received the text have been advised to delete it 'immediately'.
Anyone who has clicked on the link and provided personal information is urged to change passwords and contact their bank.
They wrote on Twitter: 'The National Lottery has been made aware that members of the public have received text messages which purport to be from the ‘Lotto’.
'These text messages are not from the National Lottery and are likely to be a phishing scam.
'The National Lottery will never text you to ask you to provide any sensitive or personal information via text message.
'If you have received this text message, please do not open it, or click on the link provided. Instead you should delete the message immediately.
'Any player who has opened the ‘Lotto’ text message and clicked on the link or provided passwords or personal information should change any passwords immediately.
'If you have provided any banking information, it is essential you urgently contact your bank to ensure your banking details have not been compromised.'

Meanwhile, the search is on to find the winner of Friday's €1million EuroMillions raffle prize.
The lucky ticket was sold in the Bookstation store in Stillorgan Shopping Centre, Dublin.
